In addition to some stability improvements, there are a couple of specific changes we’d like to share:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Switched our JSON parsing to Jiffy (&lt;a href="https://github.com/davisp/jiffy"&gt;https://github.com/davisp/jiffy&lt;/a&gt;) which will improve JSON parsing (i.e. reading and writing documents to the service)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Implemented changes to our clustering algorithm so users can always create/delete databases, even while a node is down.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;These changes will help the service be faster and more fault-tolerant. Our operations team is investigating the issues.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Post-mortem&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Issues on Meritage were caused by packet transmission delays affecting the links between several nodes in our cluster. We reconfigured the cluster to avoid these routes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Errors on Julep were caused by a latent bug affecting DB deletions. We hotpatched the cluster and will be rolling out a permanent deploy on Wednesday.&lt;/li&gt;
